HISTORY AND MAJOR MILESTONES

July 1986

HTRD was founded by Dr. Yong N. Lee, Ph. D. in mechanical engineering, in Mt. Prospect, Illinois U.S.A.

January 1987

Awarded a SBIR(Small Business Innovative Research) grant from National Science Foundation in the field of compact heat exchanger.

July 1989 ~ June 1990

Awarded a research project from Samsung Research Center on refrigerator research.

July 1991

Custom-biult for Korea Institute of Energy Research an instrumented wind tunnel system for research in the field of the thermoelectric cooling / heating equipment.

July 1993

HTRD participated in the workshop as a presenter, sponsored by Industrial Bank of Korea in the field of the thermoelectric heat pump in Seoul, Korea.

July 1995

Custom-built for Southwest Research Insititue, TX,  U.S.A.  a thermoelectric chiller of a 300 watt cooling capacity.

July 1996

Custom-built the first thermoelectric power generator of a 200 watt capacity for Korea Institute of Energy Research.

July 1999

Technology transfer to Korea Hi-Tech, Ltd. in Suwon, Korea.

March 2000

TE Solutions, Inc. was founded in Korea with HTRD as a partner with an aim of dedicating to the promotion of the thermoelectirc technologies. Since then, TE Solutions, Inc. has been the manufacturing and R&D bases for HTRD.

June 2001~Present

HTRD hase been a major supplier of the thermoelectric coolers to major micro processor companies around the world..
